A deadline calendar for every client's CT600 and tax payment dates

Taxley keeps a deadline calendar for your practice that lists each client return's CT600 filing date and Corporation Tax payment dates for the next 12 months, with overdue ones first, and downloads as an .ics file. It lists only clients with a return started in Taxley, and Companies House accounts and confirmation statement dates show on the client list rather than in the calendar.

The calendar comes with every practice account, at no charge. You pay for a return only when you file it.

What can't the deadline calendar show?

The calendar is built from the returns in your practice account.

  • Clients with no return yet. A client appears in the calendar once a return for it is started in Taxley.
  • Companies House dates. The accounts and confirmation statement dates show on the client list, not in the calendar or the .ics file.
  • A live feed. The .ics file is a download, so download it again after you add clients or returns.
  • Confirmation statements and tax payments. Taxley shows their dates but doesn't file the confirmation statement or pay the Corporation Tax.
  • Advice. Taxley is software from Taxley UK LLP. The dates follow the periods you enter.

How does the practice deadline calendar work?

Each return's period gives its dates, so the calendar keeps up as you work. The CT600 is due 12 months after the end of the accounting period, and the tax usually 9 months and 1 day after it (GOV.UK: Pay your Corporation Tax bill). When a company's first accounts run longer than 12 months and need two CT600s, both returns are due 12 months after the accounts end, and each accounting period has its own tax payment date.

  1. Add your clients. Find each company on the Companies House register, or paste up to 100 company numbers at a time.
  2. Start their returns. Each return adds its CT600 deadline, and a payment date for each accounting period it covers.
  3. Open the calendar. Overdue items come first, then the next 12 months, month by month.
  4. Download the .ics file. Import it into your own calendar app.
  5. Use the client list. Filter clients by deadlines in the next 30, 60 or 90 days, or overdue, and sort by the next deadline. Each row also shows the Companies House accounts and confirmation statement dates.

A date leaves the calendar once its return is filed, or paid for in the case of a payment date.

What does the deadline calendar cost?

Nothing: it comes with the practice account. You pay only for the returns you file: £49.95 with micro-entity accounts, £139 with small-company accounts or £9.50 for a dormant company's nil return, or with prepaid credits. Every plan is on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Which dates does the calendar show?

Each client return's CT600 filing deadline, until the return is filed, and its Corporation Tax payment dates, until the return is paid for in Taxley. A period of account over 12 months shows a payment date for each of its two accounting periods.

Can I add the deadlines to my own calendar?

Yes. Download the deadlines as an .ics file and import it into your calendar app. It is a snapshot, so download it again after you add clients or returns.

Does the calendar include Companies House deadlines?

Not in the calendar itself. The client list shows each company's next accounts and confirmation statement dates from the Companies House register, and Taxley files the accounts there once a return is paid and finished.

Who in the practice sees the calendar?

Every member of the practice team, whatever their role. It covers all the practice's clients, because clients belong to the practice account rather than to the person who added them.
